As you may be aware, Sumitra Bhave is a well known Indian photographer who has been an avid shutterbug since the mid-90s. She also co-founded several local art galleries and is a very good friend of the people who run the Mumbai art gallery. Her blog is basically a gallery of her photos and her photography business. We had a chance to chat with Sumitra a few months ago about how she was thinking about her blog. I asked her if she was in the business of selling her photos commercially. She said she wasn’t, but that she was considering it. She then told me that her blog was her “gallery” of photos and that she started doing it as a hobby and ended up making it a business in March of this year, “because it was the best time to do it”.
Sumitra has been doing photography since she started blogging in 2009 (she started as a hobby and ended up doing it a business), and in her blog she sells her photos. She has also had a number of photo shoots with celebrity clients (including her own son) and a few events.
